This comprehensive review will help you pass your Plastic Surgery exams and update your clinical knowledge base.  The course includes didactic lectures, embedded questions, discussion time at the end of most topics, and a dedicated question and answers session.  Emphasis is on evidence-based medicine and board-relevant standards of care, incorporating current best practice concepts, surgical approaches, and clinical follow-up strategies.  As a result, it provides a good review for your ABPS written and CC exams and provides a thorough review of plastic surgery for physicians in practice.  In addition, many of our previous learners found the course provided them with improved diagnostic and planning strategies, a better understanding of the best surgical approaches for the principal areas covered by plastic surgeons and helped them recognize areas of weakness for self-study.

Objectives

After this review, each participant will be able to:

  • Ascertain the etiology, diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, and prognosis for common surgeries in all seven anatomical areas prescribed by the ABPS
  • Summarize appropriate diagnostic and assessment procedures
  • Provide a reasonable and appropriate plan for surgical and medical management of defined patient problems and likely complications for all common surgeries covered by the specialty of plastic surgery
  • Display an understanding of the various types of surgical facilities and their
suitability for all significant plastic surgery approaches
  • Describe appropriate habilitation and rehabilitation approaches for all common areas covered by plastic surgery
  • Apply the core knowledge, and clinical insight gained to the cognitive portion of the ABPS certification examinations
